Reach the underground. Pitch, press, or simply shout back.
Press kits, demo submissions, interview requests, corrections, and listening-party invitations — every message goes to a real human who actually reads the band bio. We answer within a week, usually faster.

Press, premieres, and submission guidelines.
We cover doom, sludge, blackened hardcore, post-metal, noise rock, and the blurry terrain in between. Here's how to get on our radar without ending up in the spam folder.
Step 01
Send a private link
We only review private Bandcamp, SoundCloud, or Google Drive links. Public YouTube links to 8-minute tracks are fine for context — not for primary listening.
Step 02
Include release context
Release date, label, format, one-paragraph bio, and any embargo. We schedule around four weeks ahead. Pre-release listening is sacred — we don't leak.
Step 03
Give us two weeks
We aim to publish within 14 days of confirmed coverage. If we can't fit it, we say so honestly. We never ghost, and we never recycle the same release across multiple sites.
Find us in the noise.
Most breaking news, late-night listening parties, and unfiltered opinions happen on our socials first. Pick the platform that fits how you actually read about music.
Before you hit send.
A quick scan of these saves us all a round of email. If your question isn't here, the inbox above is wide open.
Do you accept unsolicited demos?
Yes — every working day. Send a private streaming link to [email protected] with a one-paragraph bio and the release date. We listen to everything that comes through, but we can only write about roughly 8% of what lands.
Will you review my friend's bedroom EP?
If it's heavy, honest, and well-recorded, absolutely. We don't care about follower counts, label backing, or whether the band has toured. We care about whether the record holds up at 2 a.m. on a long drive.
How do embargos and exclusives work?
We honor all embargo dates and will not publish a single word before the agreed time. Premature coverage ends a relationship with us permanently. If you need to coordinate a premiere, mention "embargo" in the subject line and we'll lock in a date.
Do you take sponsored posts or paid placements?
No. We accept no payment in exchange for coverage, and reviews are never traded for ad space. Banner ads on the site are sold separately through our media kit — write to [email protected] and we'll send the rate card.
Can I write for Rages of Sanity?
We're always looking for working writers with a point of view. Pitch two story ideas and one sample review to [email protected] with the subject line "Pitch: [your name]". We pay on publication.
A small office, a small city, a wide reach.
We're based in Kitchener-Waterloo, but the work happens across time zones. Drop a line if you're in the area and want a coffee — most Wednesdays we're around.
